Happy :)

I watched a documentary called "Happy" on Netflix.  It talked about some of the characteristics of happy people all around the world.  It didn't necessarily enlighten me with facts I didn't already know at some level, but it made think about my need to practice happiness.  It reminded me to be thankful for all I have, exercise often, maintain good relationships, be involved with a community or cause, and, most importantly for me, change what I'm doing if I'm not happy.  After being in the doldrums and constantly complaining about everything from my job to my relationships, I decided it was finally time to do something about it.  I started writing more, signed up for an art class, volunteered, started exercising more, and even practiced my innate need to constantly be doing something or making progress.  The one thing that does get me back on the happy bus is training myself to think about others, rather than dwelling on my own life and problems.  Since I may not be one of those people who are naturally happy, this will take a lot of work.  But I think this will really be worth it.
